Technology at Work
In Touch Pharmaceuticals strives to streamline, automate and improve our comprehensive, institutional pharmacy services every day. Our advanced IT department, including developers and programmers, works with our partners to develop systems that meet their needs and provide an interface with National Council for Prescription Drug Programs Script (NCPDP Script), Health Level 7 platform.
Our IT department can also provide the electronic medication administration report (e-MAR), which utilizes a direct interface with In Touch.
For many years we have individually packaged doses, labeled them with the patient's name, dosage amount and time of administration. Today, we surpass all quality standards.
Our process, through innovation has allowed us to provide the following to our partners:
- Enhanced larger single dose, short-cycle packing; easier to read and administer
- Quality controls check points viewed and verified by licensed pharmacists
- Laser imaging and phtography of all medications utilizing our systems to check for correct medication, intact oral solids, correct patient dosage and drug interactions and storage of these records.

IV Infusion
In Touch Pharmaceuticals supplies a 24 hour quantity of IV solutions Monday through Thursday and a 72 hour quantity on weekends and holidays as needed. This helps prevent wast if there is a change, and reduces costs.
- Within the pharmacy is a USP 797 compliant state-of-the-art IV Clean Room, Ante Room and Order Entry Suite.
- IV antibiotic dosing and lab monitoring of vancomycin and aminoglycosides if ordered
- Many IV antibiotics mixed in Baxter's Elastomeric Intermates, which do not require a pump
- Elastometric infusion "Eclipse balls" are portable and used primarily for antibiotic infusions. The device can be placed in the patient's pocket or carrying pouch and allows for the continuation of the patient's normal daily activities.
